Q: How do you stay up to date on all the newest technology?
A: The easiest way that I have found is to attend as many continuing education classes and seminars as I can. I am a member of the Rochester Optometric Society, and I also subscribe to some of the trade publications to ensure I am aware of what is available for my patients. Another great way I have found is by meeting with vendor partners through the Rochester Optometric Society, as they are a great resource on all of the latest products.
Q: How do you work with patients?
A: When it comes to care for my patients, I like to consider myself very thorough, as well as caring. I always want to do what’s best for my patients -- for their health and long-term care. I believe in modern science, and I like to use whatever tools are at my disposal to ensure that my patients receive the best possible care.
Q: Why do you work at The Eye Care Center?
A: The amazing doctors here! I chose to work here because I respect the team that is in place. Plus, I wanted to have the ability to provide complete eye care in one setting. This allows me to follow up with my patients who may need further treatment, and it’s also easier for them to not have to travel far.
Q: Why should a patient choose to come to you?
A: All of our doctors here at The Eye Care Center are wonderful, so a patient can’t go wrong choosing any of us.
Q: Do you have certain areas of expertise?
A: I really enjoyed working with the pediatric patients throughout my different externships. Many children need someone who will take their time and calm any fears they may have about a “doctor visit.” I like talking to them and helping them see a clearer world! In addition, I have experience with treating glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Q: Having lived in NYC (which is a huge contrast to living here), what did you look forward to most about our area?
A: Peace and quiet! Although I really enjoyed my time in NYC, I enjoy time outdoors and relaxing with a good book. I love the Finger Lakes area and what it has to offer and couldn’t wait to move back.
Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I enjoy reading, going to the gym, and spending time with my dog and family. An occasional visit to a local winery with my friends is always enjoyable as well!
Q: Tell me something funny about yourself.
A: Well, I am double-jointed in over half of my body, which I get from my father. I think it’s pretty cool.
